Who We Are
The Division of International Trade is part of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP),
a state authority created to promote economic expansion within the Commonwealth of Virginia. A private sector twenty-one-member Board of
Directors, appointed by the Governor,
oversees all functions of the Partnership. The goals of the VEDP’s Business Development Division
are to attract new business investments to the Commonwealth and to support business expansions across the state. Our goals in the VEDP's
Division of International Trade are to increase the number of Virginia companies exporting and the volume of Virginia's exports.
Who We Help
We help Virginia companies sell Virginia's manufactured goods and services to the billions of people outside the United States. We
work with small and large companies, both public and private from all types of industries. We help both new exporters and experienced
exporters enter new markets. We do this by helping companies identify potential new markets, develop market entry strategies and locate
possible distributors and representatives for your products, all at little to no cost. Virginia businesses like yours, interested in
pursuing foreign sales opportunities benefit from our export counseling services, publications,
resources, special market research and VALET
export development programs, and participation in our local and global trade events.
